bad blogger....

I am officially a bad blogger.....Summer has gone and with it lots of new things made- but nope, no pictures of any to be found except this cute dress. Made from a vintage sheet- I think I remember having a duvet almost identical!

I will try and turn over a new leaf and post more.......fingers crossed it works!

summery stuff and swap stash!

This week I arrived home to one of those mysterious red cards left by the post when something won't fit through the door. Racking my brains to think what I had bought on a late night ebay spree and couldn't remember, when I collected I realised it was my very berry swap partner's package of scaps! A box crammed full of fabric goodies- my brain has started to go on overdrive thinking about what to make! Thank you so much scrap partner!

Having bought some lovely linen fabric at the market, I decided to try another Heidi and Finn pattern- this time a party dress (despite not having any parties planned...) I used some lovely cloud 9 fabric as the box and waistband and despite little B having to grow a bit more for it to fit properly, I was quite pleased with the result!

Present

I wanted to make a present for a friend who has just had a little girl. Not really knowing what I wanted to make and after a fair bit of pottering about I came up with this.....

It is a kind of taggie blanket with really soft fluffy material on the back and soft jersey on the front. I hope she likes it!

the bluebells are out! Sunshine and bluebells in the woods- what could be better?

 Little B was very excited to discover the upside down doll was really two in one- She has already found a place in bed beside her- top spot usually reserved for baby or teddy!

 It was tricky getting photos tonight as B wanted to "Jump Jump"......

sewing catch up

I have just finished a sun hat for little B - I now have to wait for her to come home from nursery to try it out and see if it fits!! I'm hoping the weather will stay sunhat friendly as we are off on hols tomorrow- while I was packing (or dumping every piece of clothing I own on the spare bed) I found a couple of other things I have made that haven't made it onto my blog record. The skirt is an Amy Butler pattern - and my first attempt at an invisible zipper. The second is another Heidi and Finn pattern (love that fabric- lined with vintage 70s reclaimed fabric, super soft). The second photo seems to be upside down....but you get the gist!

I've only gone and won a giveaway!!

I am super excited......I stumbled across this givaway at a really sweet blog who wanted names for an upsidedown doll. I entered, not thinking much more of it (I never....repeat never, seem to win anything) and was then so excited to find I had won!!! Yippee! B will love it- if she is able to prise it from my hands first....

scrap swap!

I've just signed up for the very berry handmade scrap swap! Having never joined into anything like this in blogland (or real land for that matter) I am quite excited by the whole idea- I have a whole drawer full of scraps so choosing what will go in the envelope will be a treat.....now all I have to do it wait patiently for a partner!

I currently love love love children's patterns by Heidi and Finn. So cute. So easy. Look so good. The yoga top and apron are both achievable to make in an evening (which is the best bit as I hate waiting!)

Ok this is getting silly now- I have just spent the last hour fiddling round trying to organise and design the blog...must go to sleep!

hello...hello...hello....

The story so far................ I admit it- I am a lurker in blog land (that felt painful) and after reading a blog about delurking and promptly doing nothing about it, somewhere in some part of my subconscious it must have registered. You would think that I could have just posted a comment and that would have been enough, but no. I decide the only way to do things properly is to jump into blog world feet first and start a blog and then delurk.... It is a bit like starting your first day at school- excitement but partly scared stiff that I won't be accepted or ever noticed in the million of other blogs out there. I know that's not what it is all about, but the more blogs I read the more I want to be part of things- I can't imagine what it would be like to have people read or better still comment my ramblings....... Anyway - back to business- I want this blog to be a little of me and my daydreams. I want somewhere to record the things I have made and to reflect on life in general. I will share what makes me laugh and what has brightened up my day in the hope that it will make me smile more and maybe even make someone else smile........ cheers!
